"The Misfit of Demon King Academy" Season 2 Unveils New Key Visual and Blu-ray/DVD Details!
Great news for fans of "The Misfit of Demon King Academy"! The highly anticipated Season 2 of the anime has treated us to a stunning new key visual this week. But that's not all – the second season has exciting plans in store with four Blu-ray/DVD volumes.
Originally scheduled to air in January, the anime faced production challenges that led to a delay. However, fans' patience was rewarded as the broadcast resumed in July. Notably, Yuichiro Umehara stepped in to voice Anos, taking over from Tatsuhisa Suzuki. The rest of the cast has reprised their roles, promising a seamless continuation of the story.
The series is helmed by Chief Director Shin Onuma and Director Masafumi Tamura. The brilliant Character Designs are crafted by Kazuyuki Yamayoshi, while Jin Tanaka is responsible for the Series Composition. Asuka Komiyama serves as the Art Director, with Keiji Inai composing the music.
"The Misfit of Demon King Academy" is based on a light novel written by Shu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma. The light novel's serialization began in Dengeki Bunko in 2018, followed by a manga adaptation by Kayaharuka in MangaUp! magazine. Unfortunately, the manga's publication went on indefinite hiatus due to the passing of Kayaharuka last year, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Square Enix holds the license for the manga and describes the intriguing plot as follows:
Anos, the Demon King of Tyranny, has conquered humans, spirits, and even gods. However, the endless fighting has left him yearning for a more peaceful existence. To achieve this, Anos decides to reincarnate himself. Awakening two thousand years later, he discovers that the world has become too peaceful – his descendants have grown weak, and magic is in steep decline. Determined to reclaim his rightful position, Anos enrolls in the Demon King Academy, where he realizes his magical prowess is unmatched. Ironically, because of the immeasurable magnitude of his power, the faculty and students label Anos as a misfit. Undeterred, he forms a close bond with Misha, his one and only friend, and thus begins the ascent of the misfit (Demon King) through the ranks!
