Exciting updates for fans of the "Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective" manga! Kadokawa has unveiled the second teaser visual and additional cast members for the upcoming television anime adaptation. Originally created by Akira Amano, the manga was confirmed to receive an anime adaptation in December 2022, with its "first season" set to premiere in October 2023.
The new key visual showcases protagonist Ron Kamonohashi and supporting character Totomaru "Toto" Ishiki in a library setting. Surrounding them are intriguing translucent silhouettes of other characters, building anticipation for their future reveals in upcoming visuals.
Previously, the anime showcased live-action representations of the voice actors for Ron and Toto, as well as another anime-style visual featuring Ron alone. Moreover, it was revealed that the opening theme song for the series will be "Ikenai fool logic," performed by Unison Square Garden.
The anime's director is Shota Ihata, with production at diomedéa Studios. Wataru Watari is overseeing the series scripts, and Masakazu Ishijawa is adapting the manga's character designs for animation. Yo Tsuji will compose the anime's music at Kadokawa.
For the voice cast, Yohei Azakami will lend his voice to protagonist Ron Kamonohashi, and Junya Enoki will voice Totomaru "Toto" Ishiki. The latest additions to the cast include Yoko Hikasa as Amamiya and Taku Yashiro as Spitz Feier.
The "Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective" manga debuted in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ publication on October 11, 2020. Since then, it has continued to captivate readers, leading to 11 compilation volumes by April 2023. The series is also available for free on Shueisha's MANGA Plus platform.
The manga's intriguing premise follows Ron Kamonohashi, a private investigator with personal issues, and Totomaru Ishiki, a pure-hearted but dim police detective, as they form an unconventional duo to solve perplexing mysteries. The series promises thrilling detective stories for a new generation, expertly crafted by Akira Amano, known for her renowned works "Reborn!" and "Ēldlive."
Additionally, Akira Amano's involvement in the Psycho-Pass franchise and her work as a character designer for the recently announced Suicide Squad Isekai anime series adds even more excitement and credibility to the upcoming "Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective" anime adaptation.
