January 2024: New key visual released for "Kingdom" Season 5

Exciting news for anime fans! The highly anticipated fifth season of the Kingdom anime adaptation has unveiled its first key visual, showcasing the Hi Shin Unit. Set in the Warring States period, Kingdom is based on Yasuhisa Hara's manga, which started in 2006 and currently spans 69 tankoubon volumes.


Fans can look forward to the new season premiering in Japan in January 2024. The series follows the journey of war-orphans Shin and Hyou in the kingdom of Qin, as they aspire to prove themselves on the battlefield. Their destinies take a dramatic turn when Hyou is captured, setting off a chain of events that lead to an encounter with a mysterious youth who holds the key to the empire's future.


The team behind Seasons 3 and 4 is returning for Season 5, with Kenichi Imaizumi as director, Noboru Takagi as series composer, Hisashi Abe as character designer, Miyuki Abe as color designer, and Hiroyuki Sawano and KOHTA YAMAMOTO as music composers. Animation production credits once again go to Pierrot and its subsidiary St.Signpost.


Fans will be thrilled to know that the familiar cast is returning, including Masakazu Morita as Shin, Jun Fukuyama as Ei Sei, Rie Kugimiya as Karyo Ten, Youko Hikasa as Kyou Kai, Susumi Akagi as En, and Kousuke Toriumi as Bihei.


Kingdom has garnered a massive following since its debut in 2012, and with its gripping storyline and epic battles, it continues to captivate audiences worldwide. The manga, serialized in Weekly Young Jump, has been a huge success, and fans can also look forward to a third live-action film premiering in Japan on July 28.
