Days with stepsister

Recently, during the live-streamed MF Bunko J Summer School Festival event, exciting details about the upcoming anime "Gimai Seikatsu" (Days With My Stepsister) were revealed. Based on the novels written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten, the television anime is set to premiere in 2024.

The story revolves around Yuta Asamura, a high school student whose life takes a turn when his parent remarries, introducing him to a new stepsister, the beautiful Saki Ayase. Saki is the top student in her grade, and both Yuta and Saki have some prior knowledge of male-female relationships through their parents. In order to maintain harmony within the family, they agree to maintain a moderate distance between them – not too confrontational, yet not too compromising.

The anime stars talented voice actors like Kōhei Amasaki as Yuta Asamura, Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase, Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri, Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru, and Ayu Suzuki as Narasaka Maaya.

Studio DEEN will be in charge of animating the series, with Tsutomu Ueno directing. Mitsutaka Hirota will handle the series scripts, bringing his expertise from works like "Edens Zero" and "Bibliophile Princess." The character designs will be crafted by Manabu Nii, who has previously worked on "Akiba Maid War" and "The Day I Became a God."

Fans can look forward to heartwarming and relatable moments as Yuta and Saki gradually develop a comfortable relationship as step-siblings.

The novel series, published by Kadokawa, started in January 2021, with the ninth volume set to release on August 25. Ghost Mikawa is also known for their work on the "My Friend's Little Sister Has It In for Me!" light novel series.

For manga enthusiasts, "Gimai Seikatsu" is getting a manga adaptation illustrated by Yumika Kanade, with the second volume having been released in December 2022.

With a talented team and an engaging storyline, "Gimai Seikatsu" promises to be an anime filled with warmth and growth, as the step-siblings navigate their newfound relationship. Anime fans won't want to miss this heartwarming series when it airs in 2024!
